A Finlease Client Story
“Mick was already transporting equipment for someone else and had to find his own freight,” explained Mark. “I was working on gas plants in Queensland when Mick suggested we buy our own equipment and start our own business.”
Starting with just one truck—a Freightliner Argosy—and a drop deck trailer, the business has grown steadily. Their fleet now includes 10 trucks with two new Kenworths—a T909 and a Legend SAR—on the way.
With plans to take on more road train work, Mark shared: “We’ve been passing on freight to Perth and Darwin, but with the new 909, we’re hoping to handle more of it ourselves.”
The Kaandorp brothers’ approach to business is rooted in excellence and care. “We aren’t the cheapest, but we are very good at what we do,” said Mark. “Our customers trust us because we take great care not to damage their machinery. We take a lot of pride in that.”
MK Trucking partnered with Finlease five years ago, relying on equipment finance broker Brady Talbot. Mark recalled: “Brady told me, ‘Get a quote from me for your next loan.’ He’s looked after me from the start and continues to do so.”
Switching to Finlease was a smart move for Mark, who described himself as a “numbers and cents guy.” “If I’m saving money, I’m switching. Brady even connected me with an insurance broker, and when I switched, my fleet was half the size, but I saved $60,000 instantly.”
Finlease’s service has simplified their finance process. “If I want to buy something, I just text Brady a photo and tell him what I need. He always gets back to me the same day. They’ve never knocked back a request,” Mark added. “Dealing with Finlease is always easy.”
With two new prime movers and a 48ft ramp trailer on the way, the Kaandorp brothers are set for continued growth.
